From Family Hideaway to Iconic Wedding Venue
The land that is now Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat has always been a place of connection. Long before it became a wedding venue, it was a rustic family getaway — simple cabins, shared meals, and weekends in the bush. Our current owner was a regular visitor, drawn back again and again by the valley’s beauty and the way time seemed to slow here.
A New Vision
Over the years, a dream began to take shape: what if this unique patch of bushland could be more than a retreat?
What if it could be a place where couples celebrated life’s most important moments, or where teams stepped away from the everyday to reconnect? From that vision, Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat as a wedding venue and corporate escape was born.
Loss and Renewal
In the devastating bushfires of 2019, the retreat was reduced to ashes. Buildings, cabins, and gathering spaces were destroyed. It was heartbreaking — yet it also sparked a chance to begin again. Rather than simply rebuild, the owner reimagined the retreat with purpose.
Every detail was designed anew: architectural guest cabins with ensuite rooms, a sleek Function Area with sweeping views, and the Rock Cathedral and Sunset Deck were restored and rebuilt that celebrate the natural drama of Kangaroo Valley.

Today, Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat is a purpose-built wedding and event venue, shaped by its history and renewed with intention.
It is a place where couples can celebrate surrounded by nature, where families can come together across three unforgettable days, and where the spirit of resilience and connection lives in every corner of the property.
